Who We Help

The trustees make regular grants to certain charities with which the Foundation has historical connections. Larger grants vary in size according to the individual requirements of the applicant but are generally in the range of £1000-50000 per year. Many successful applicants have gone on to receive continued support over many years.

The trustees also have a small grants programme. Small grants are generally of £500–£1000, most commonly £1000. They are only made to registered charities, mainly from the Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire regions, and are considered by the trustees on a regular (generally monthly) basis so the application process is always open. The trustees priorities are listed on the About page.

National charities operating in the counties above will be considered for grants.

Funding is normally considered for capital and revenue costs and for both specific projects and for general running/core costs.

Due to limited resources, charities operating outside the areas above are unlikely to be successful in any application.

The Foundation does not enter into email or telephone correspondence regarding small grants.

A registered charity should apply for a grant only once per annum.

Below are some examples of the charities that have been offered grants.
